With more than 34 years of experience serving in senior management roles with Los Angeles- and Hawaii-based investment advisory firms, Mike brings an extensive asset management background to Metaurus Advisors. Most recently, Mike managed the Institutional Advisory Services Division at First Hawaiian Bank where he was responsible for $11 billion of client assets in asset management, custody, asset servicing and trust employee benefit services. He also served as President, CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Bishop Street Capital Management, FHB’s wholly-owned, S.E.C.-registered investment advisor. Prior to the sale of his company to FHB in 2004, Mike was a Partner and Chairman of CIC/HCM Asset Management, an institutional fixed income and value equity manager formed through the merger of CIC Asset Management and HCM Capital Management, a firm he founded in 1990. Previously, Mike was Director of Research and a Senior Portfolio Manager with Denney and Denny, Inc., a quantitative equity institutional asset manager. Mike began his professional career in public accounting with the international accounting firms of Ernst and Young and KPMG. He received a BBA from the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii and an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. Mike is active in community and professional organizations serving as a Trustee of the University of Hawai’i Foundation and member of the Legacy Council of the U.S.-Japan Council, where he served as Vice Chair and Treasurer. He is a Director and a Past President of CFA Society Hawaii and a member of the Executive Board of the Aloha Council, Boy Scouts of America.
